A Korean Singer-Songwriter Sets English Words Over Synth-Pop for a Night of Letting Go

Before a note of LET’S LOVE! by Minhye J plays, the presentation has already set the mood. Her long-time creative director, 75 (CHIRO), shaped the video, the cover art, her profile photos and the styling around the single. The song itself came out on 24 October 2024, and it matches that care: a synth-pop track built on one dreamy guitar figure that keeps coming back.

Minhye J’s LET’S LOVE! sits in the playlist below with our dream pop, chamber pop and ethereal pop picks, and Minhye J’s artist profile lists where the single has been covered. LET’S LOVE! reached AltPop.News through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news titles. Listen to the single, then keep reading for how one guitar figure holds the song together.

Minhye J and Arranger STOPH00N Build LET’S LOVE! Around a Dreamy Guitar That Keeps Returning

The arrangement comes from STOPH00N, the alias of Jung Ji-hoon, a member of the Korean rock band Wetter. Perhaps that background explains the choice at the centre of the track. Instead of letting the synths carry everything, the arrangement hangs the song on a dreamy guitar sound that returns across the whole song. STOPH00N also plays that electric guitar himself.

Against it sits the voice. Minhye J sings with real feeling here, and the melody stays delicate rather than showy, so the guitar and the vocal trade the spotlight instead of fighting for it. She wrote the words and the music herself, with Pacific credited as co-composer.

The words are in English, a deliberate choice for a Korean artist who wants the song to travel. The message is simple and slightly defiant. In a world where people keep hurting each other, the song asks for one night off: forget everything, cry if you need to, sing, and love freely. Her own note on the release goes further. Nobody in the story is to blame, everyone simply loved the wrong person sincerely, and since the Earth might end tomorrow, there is no point in hating each other.

There is a Korean indie lineage for guitar this central to a song. SE SO NEON, led by singer and guitarist Hwang So-yoon, won Best Rock Song at the 2018 Korean Music Awards with The Wave, a track that put a guitar line front and centre. LET’S LOVE! borrows that confidence and points it at synth-pop instead of rock.

AltPop.News Curator Team: “We placed LET’S LOVE! in our playlist because it understands restraint. One guitar figure, one plain request, and a vocal that never oversells it. The single sounds like a mood board that learned to sing.”

Synth Haze, a Plain English Lyric and Minhye J’s Comfort-Through-Sadness Idea on LET’S LOVE!

The production leans on nostalgic synth tones, which suits the song’s central idea. Speaking to the Korean outlet MHN when the single came out, Minhye J said that melancholy is both her main source of inspiration and the identity of her music. She has also argued that sharing a similar experience can comfort people more than encouragement does. Minhye J puts that into practice on LET’S LOVE!: it does not promise that things will get better, it simply offers company for one night.

The track runs to three minutes and 34 seconds. It was recorded at wave studio with engineer Yoo Hyung-seok, and Kwon Nam-woo mastered it at 821 Sound Mastering. The single came out on the thisismine imprint, six months after her seven-track album paperflower. PurplePine Entertainment, credited with the recording copyright, also posted a teaser and a lyric video for it on YouTube.

Where to Hear LET’S LOVE! by Minhye J, From the Video to My Dear Ocean and Your Song

Start with the official video on her own YouTube channel, where the styling and the sound meet. 75 directed it and designed its character, with 3D animation by Cullan Bruce. It follows an endless search for love that carries on even after love has caused hurt, and fans of her work will look for the flower that runs through her visual identity.

For a reference point outside Korea, Beach House is the obvious one. The Baltimore duo is credited with bringing dream pop to a new generation, building records such as Teen Dream on Alex Scally’s guitar and Victoria Legrand’s keyboards. Listeners who like that hazy glow will find a lighter, more direct version of it here.

After that, follow the story in both directions. Minhye J debuted in 2020 with Blue, then built a run of singles, from Knock Knock and Violet in 2021 to peony in 2022 and plz in 2023. Since LET’S LOVE!, she has released your song, Like a butterfly and, in November 2025, My dear ocean, which also comes in an instrumental version.
